Winter Solstice....not as dark as the longest night of the year

Had a chance to drop into Life of Riley for a pint on this coooooold winter afternoon. Picked up Anderson Valley's Winter Solstice for the first time this season.

As the photo shows, its not as dark as the name for the longest night of the year would imply. The beer is light for a winter seasonal with a sweet malt finish similar to a barleywine minus the alcohol burn.

A pleasant quaff with maybe an Austin Powers-esque, "it's a bit nutty." But in a good way.
