Beer Luvvas,
I had an unexpected pleasure on my flight from PDX to SJC this afternoon. Although my ticket was booked through Delta (the cheapest option through my company’s online travel portal), the actual flight was operated by Alaska Airlines (my preferred airline). But hark, upon arriving at PDX, I found that the Alaska flight was actually operated by Horizon Air! And why is that so exciting? As I’ve blogged before, Horizon features a free-of-charge Northwest Microbrew on each of their flights.
This flight they offered a toast to the Winter Olympics with Whistler Brewing’s Black Tusk. A black ale, Black Tusk is opaque and has a hint of coffee on the finish to accompany the dark roasted malt flavor up front. Although Freebird was on this same flight a few weeks ago, and was not a fan (not enough hops – who would have thought that would ever be an issue for Freebird!), I enjoyed my ~8oz taster.
Free beer is better when it’s free NW Microbrew!
Prost to Delta and Alaska for allowing Horizon Air to operate my flight from PDX to SJC! Prost to Whistler Brewing and the 2010 Winter Olympics!
