Beer Luvvas,
Now that I'm an official Suburbanite on the West Side, I don't make it over to my old East Side stomping grounds as often as I would like. Freebird and I up with a small Pub Crawl at Hawthorne's Lucky Lab, eafter my Holiday Gathering sponsored by 'The Man' on Saturday night. We had a couple pints - some of the last Winter Warmer on Cask - and then scampered down to the Green Dragon for a couple more pints. I was surprised to find out when we got there, that since Rogue took over, they've added "The Back Thirty" - aka 30 more taps!
And oh what a list of taps they now have! I sampled Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout on cask; Russian River Blind Pig IPA; Firestone Walker's Union Jack IPA; and 3 Skulls IPA! Freebird sampled Bear Republic's Double Rocket Imperial Red, and another red from Klamath Brewing that I can't recall. Gooney suffered through the Dogfish Head Sour Peach, and there were many, many others that were quite tempting, but time was not on our side.
50 taps - all of them exquisite - makes it mandatory that Green Dragon jumps into the top 3 places to get beer in Portland!
