Port Brewing Synergy

Beer Luvvas,

Was able to sample another new, and in this case rare, beer while in Seattle this weekend. This beer is sooooo rare, Beer Advocate claims that it is no longer being brewed. However, I can vouch with my own two lips - not only is this beer still available, it is quite good.

Synergy from Port Brewing in sunny San Diego: Funny thing is, I can't find any information on this beer on Port's site. And outside of the link above to Beer Advocate's incorrect data....I can't find anything about this beer online at all!

What I can say is that as a corked Golden Ale with visible sediment in the bottom of the bottle, I expected a Belgian flavor, or something strongly fermented in both nose and mouth. However all of these intuitions were wrong.

Synergy was very light and crisp with almost a champagne, or cider, note. And there was very little alcohol to this beer at all. Fundamentally, it was a very nice sipper. Would pair well with spicy food, or Dick's Delux Cheeseburgers in this particular case.

Prost to Synergy - the most mysterious beer I have quaffed!

This beer was brewed just one time and release around May 2006 for a Michael Jackson Beer of the Month Club.
