We are in the final countdown to the 2009 Oregon Brewers Festival! Woohoo!
For the few who haven't read this elsewhere already, there is a major change in the economics of OBF attendance this year.... The only way to purchase a mug (required for beer consumption) at this year's festival is to purchase the Mug/Program/Chips combo. For those who enjoy using the program for taking notes, this probably isn't a terrible scenario. Although it requires each member of your drinking/tasting party to also have a program of their own.
If you wish to purchase a mug, and only a mug, there are options available to those who can plan in advance.... Certain local beer sellers have been authorized to sell mugs on behalf of OBF since July 10th:
BridgePort, Portland, Rogue, The Green Dragon, Deschutes, Korkage Wine Shop, and the Raccoon Lodge
So, if you don't think you need multiple programs for this year's OBF, bring $5 cash for each mug you wish to purchase to any of the above establishments and prepay for your tasting vessal! I can vouch that you can buy at least 3 at once.
