Second Shipment: Microbrew of the Month Club

Beer Luvvas,

I have returned home from work today to a beautiful brown box that contains my second shipment of beer from the Microbrewed Beer of the Month Club. I can't wait to get a couple bottles cold, and sample this next set of 4 beers from two distinctly different brewers from different parts of the USofA!

Santa Fe Brewing Company: Santa Fe, NM
Oddly enough, the first brewer is one that I used to know relatively well. I used to live in Albuquerque, NM and enjoyed skiing outside Santa Fe when I was unable to make the weekend drive to Taos. Although I know that I've sampled Santa Fe's beers previously, it was long enough ago that I am excited to experience their Pen Porter and Pale Ale once again!

What I didn't know is that Santa Fe runs all their delivery trucks on vegetable oil and captures their CO2 from fermentation and uses it to grow algae for bio-fuel!

Pennsylvania Brewing Company: Pittsburgh, PA
Brewer Tom Pastorius creates authentic German beers in this recently restored 150 year old brick brewery. His Kaiser Pilsner won the '08 GABF category for German Pils. I guess Tom can call this brew a success! The second beer from PBC is the Stegmaier Brewhouse Bock, a malty sweet (or so the literature says) bock that should be a nice quaff....

I read this month that you can customize your orders through Gourmet Clubs to include a different shipment from any of their 6 clubs (beer, wine, cheese, chocolate, cigars, fresh flowers) each month. An interesting twist. If you are interested in learning more about their clubs, please click on the ad in the upper right corner of the blog. I'll get a commission if you decide to purchase anything in the next 60 days - the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Prost to Santa Fe Brewing and Pennsylvania Brewing Companies!
