New Brew Review: Deschutes Hop Henge!

Beer Luvvas,

I'm taking a break from my recent rants on the potential new OR beer tax to actually review a beer! Yeah! Back to my roots!

This evening I'm finally cracking open the 22oz bomber of Deschutes Hop Henge IPA that I purchased at the Portland Pub last week.

"Stonehenge is a mystery. Hop Henge is a discovery." Or so says the label. Now, it's not that this brew doesn't have the hop flavor and bitter finish that it advertises, but I'm not really feeling, "a discovery" here. This is a tasty beverage, but it's YANI - Yet Another Northwest IPA: overhopped, bitter, more citrus than floral, and quite tasty.

Is it a good brew? Yes. I'm not sure the $5/22oz price point is deserved, but I'll grab a pint the next time I see it on tap - fer sure.

Prost to over-hopped NW IPAs!
