Just a quick post because I have to get up way too early tomorrow. Freebird and I just got home from the Mission Theater and the first Portland Science Pub of 2009, and it rocked!
Forget the fact that the speaker is a Prof from UofO, he's British (aka funny, and not just the Austin Powers-esque dental work). His ability to explain fractals and tie them to everything from potato skin, to transistors, to Jackson Pollock, and possibly the essential form/relationship to life as we know it was absolutely fascinating!
On top of that, Freebird and I both enjoyed a pitcher of McMennamin's IPA along with our first McM Pub Grub since returning to Portland.
Prost to OMSI and Science Pub!
