New Year: New Brew Review!

Beer Luvvas,

Happy 2009! I had the opportunity last Friday to experience a new dining extravaganza at Andina in the Pearl District of downtown Portland. This Peruvian eatery features tapas and entrees based on local ingrediants with a Peru Fuzion flair. I won't go into details on the food, but will say that everything I tried was excellent!

I will focus on a great beer find during this meal: Xingu - a Brazilian Black Beer imported by Amazon Beer. This Schwartz-style brew was excellent! It's mild bitterness, and creamy-black-goodness, were excellent palette cleansers for the mild-to-medium spice levels of the various food-stuffs I enjoyed for dinner.

I highly recommend finding a bottle or two - "available in most states" according to Amazon Beer's website.

Prost to the first new quaff of 2009! Prost to Xingu!
