Phoenix Happy Hour: Papago Brewing

Beer Luvvas,

Yes, I'm back in Phoenix for the weekend! It's a great time to be in PHX, November brings 80 degree days, and 50 degree nights. If it was like this year round - it would be San Diego!

MCO picked me up @ Sky Harbor Airport on Friday and we went straight to Papago for a couple Happy Hour pints. I started with Big Sky Brewing Powder Hound on CASK! I was disappointed with this Winter Ale. I expected it's "British hops" to pop on cask, and/or highlight some spice notes for a "Winter Ale." But I experienced neither.

I chose to follow MCO's lead for my next brew and grab a pint of Rogue Glen. Now there was a beer worthy of a quaff! I won't go into the details, I'm just confused that Papago was able to get yet another keg of Glen - which was theoretically brewed solely for this year's Oregon Brewer's Festival. I hope this beer has a long, long life.

After Papago, we headed to the Yardhouse in the Scottsdale Mall for dinner and "a show." There I knocked back a pint of Big Bear Racer 5 IPA, and an Anderson Valley Hop Ottin IPA. Good times. Good times.

Well now I'm heading back to PDX....see y'all there!

Prost to Papago!
