Another trip to Hayward, another brewpub review

Unfortunately, I was unable to find time to find any great new beer locations in the Bay Area. However, I did meet the progeny of one of my college friends (and his wife) at BJ's Restaurant & Brewery in San Jose.

The pizza was great, and the Tanaka Stout (a little too sweet) and PM Porter (a step above blase) were as expected for this Brewpub Chain.

On the astounding side, our night out corresponded with the reports of President-Elect Obama's win in this year's election. I told those who would listen that although I still felt this election was a choice between the lesser of two evils (as was the last one, and the one before, and the one before......but in my opinion both candidates were a step up from our current POTUS), the positive note was that we would either have an African American President, or a female VP. Both of which are positive statements about this country.

I have to say that I never thought I'd see an African American President. I'm Shappy - Surprised, and Happy (even though I don't agree with most of his policy statements) that our country could look past race and elect a non-Caucasian to the highest political position of this country.

Prost to President Elect Obama! Let's hope, and help him, improve our country's state of affairs!
