New Job: A New Brewpub: Jack's Brewing Co.

Beer Luvvas,

I have officially started my new gig. One of the cons is that I will be traveling quite often. But that leads to one of the pros: exploring new brews in new locations!

This week, I'm staying in lovely Hayward, CA - down the road from OAK, and across the bay from SFO. I was tipped by a new co-worker that Jack's Brewing Company in Fremont was worth the trip. I was convinced to give 'er a go after reading The Beer Mapping Project's Review.

I met an old HMC buddy there for dinner and a couple drinks. Big G tried the Wheat and did not have a positive review. I sampled both the Amber (blase) and the IPA. The latter was worth having a second pint.

Jack's only taps the cask on Wednesdays and Thursdays, so I can't vouch for it's quality. But they do have cask! It was unfortunate that they were out of their darker beers. The porter is supposed to be quite good. Maybe the next time I'm in town.

Prost to discovering new brews on the road! Prost to Jack's Brewing Company!
