College Football is Back! Plus 2 New Brew Reviews

Beer luvvas,

College Football is back! But opening weekend kinda sucked for Freebird and I. Looks like the Wolverines are joining the Huskies (UW) as rebuilding teams in 2008 after their loss to Utah in The Big House (including last year's loss to Appy St., it's their first back to back home opener losses since 1951-52). And the Huskies look like they continue to suck after getting drubbed by the Damn UO Ducks again this year!

But with football comes beer, so I've got a couple new Colorado brew reviews for ya...

Boulder Brewing Mojo IPA: A very solid IPA, but nothing that just said, "Wow! Drink me!" Sometime in the not too distant future, I'd like to do a side-by-side, blind comparison with Hazed & Infused. My memory believes that the hop notes in H&I are heartier than Mojo.

Breckenridge Small Batch 471 ESB: Now here's a beer that hails from the mountain tops, "I am fine & quaff-able! Drink copious amounts of me! If you can find me!" Like Small Batch 471 IPA, the ESB is exquisite. The Breck brewers travelled across the pond to find the "...malt maker we discovered follow a centuries-old formula, and we shipped a whole bunch of it over to make this big, extra special brew." Oh, and it is extra special! To date, I've only found it at Papago and BevMo!

Prost to great beer, and thus far - bad college football!
