Portland Beer Tour Part I: Twilight Room Update

Beer Luvvas,

I'm in Portland (Hillsboro) for work this week, and making a personal commitment to do some scouting around a few of my favorite PDX Beer Haunts as prep work for the upcoming OBF this weekend.

This evening, I met a former co-worker in North Portland to checkout the status of the Twilight Room. I walked in the front door and everything looked - and smelled - exactly as I remembered it.

But what I wasn't expecting was the question from this evening's drinking/dining partner: "Do you want to eat on the patio?" What is this you say? The T-Room has a patio? Ah, yes! It seems they demolished the building that used to be next door and added half-a-dozen outdoor wood tables and benches. And they even fenced off the front so you don't see the Lombard traffic (either cars or people). If the patio's packed (which today it wasn't), I expect you wouldn't be able to hear most of the traffic either.

And another happy note, my companion mentioned that all Portland bars/restaurants will be going smoke free in Jan '09! That would remove the familiar smell of the T-Room as well!

But best of all, I quaffed a couple pints of Dead Guy and enjoyed a T-Burger (mmmmmm egg, ham & bacon) with a good friend, outside and it wasn't anywhere close to 100 degrees!

It was a good day.

Prost to the new paito at the Twilight Room!
