Great NW Amber Ale Challenge: Quotes

Beer Luvvas,

Well, it looks like Beervana isn't going to post the results of Gooney Bird's Great NW Amber Ale Challenge that I posted on awhile ago. I was holding back on posting the quotes to respond to the uproar that I expected based on the comments he received from the IPA Challenge back in March.

Well, some of these are too entertaining not to share. And it just goes to show you that no system is perfect, and that beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder!

Comments on the Champion: Deschutes Green Lakes Organic Ale
- Great! As Tony the Tiger would say
- Smells like circus peanut candy, but tastes real nice
- Warm and Banana-y
(all four in the same handwriting with a red pen)
- If this beer was a stripper, I'd tip the pole
- I'd rather suck the piss out of a dead cat
- Why, God, why! Please don't let me drink it!
- This stuff is poison and anyone who voted for it is a communist spy.

Santa Cruz Mountain Amber Ale
- Tastes angry...bitter finish
- Tastes precisely like my ass
- I'd rather taste his ass
- Am I allowed to dump this in the wood chips?

MacTarnahan's
- Smooth, Smooth, and more Smooth ($)
- My taste buds are numb
- "O" = Oh my god...weak

Owyhee Amber
- Simply the best
- Super smooth...I want more, please

Fat Tire
- "P" smells funny

Red Tail Ale
- How did...? This sucks ass.
- OMG, how did this advance?
- How did this pass round 1?

Full Sail Amber
- Oh, this one made me pee a little
- "L" = LOSER...weak

Jamaica Red Ale
- Decent, but I'm not calling my mom over it

Dick's Mountain Ale
- Crispy, like goat piss
- A bit hoppy. I don't like it. Soapy?

Drop Top
- Light, smooth, I'm calling Mom
- Barnyardy
- "S" is for shitty, is good enough for me

St Rogue Red
- Perfumy, makes me happy, though. Can I have your number?

Fire Boat Amber
- A bit fruity. My tongue is pissed.

Otter Creek Copper Ale
- Ewwww...My tongue almost jumped out of my mouth
- Wallpaper paste, but wetter

Prost to tasting notes after too many tastes!
