Freebird's San Diego Business Trip: New Beer Locales

Beer Luvvas,

Freebird has officially landed in sunny, but not too warm, San Diego for a 3-Day business trip. How bummed am I that I'm still kickin it in sunny, and slightly too warm, Chandler AZ?

But since I'm that kind o' hubby, I'm posting results from The Beer Mapping Project to highlight the beer locations closest to her conference @ the Manchester Grand Hyatt off Harbor Blvd. They're all a short cab ride, or long walk away!

Dublin Square Irish Pub & Restaurant: Freebird's been here many times before, but rarely remembers the address. The Beer Mapping Project has a rating of 86.7, and the latest review describes it as a nice Irish pub. I'm sure some networking/beer consumption will occur here over the next few days.

Henry's Pub: I'm not sure if I've experienced this locale before. BMP scores it 75.0. From the last review - They offer 5 domestic and 5 import taps. The pick of the litter is Stone, Alaskan Amber and Smithwicks. They also have about 35 bottle choices including 3 from Stone and a Lindemans, & Alaskan ipa. I could find a quaff or two in that place!

Rock Bottom, San Diego: Now, I'm not even going to discuss Rock Bottom (since I perceive this Starbuck's-esque brew pub more macro, than micro), but BMP does score an 85.0 average review.

Now, here's one that's exciting - The Field: There are zero reviews on BMP! The website shows it's YAIP (Yet Another Irish Pub), but they advertise that they show both Gaelic Football & Hurling events with their breakfast menu and a full bar! I'm sure the Guinness is as good as it gets in the states.

Have fun Freebird! Quaff a pint or two for me!

Prost to business trips in great beer locations!
