Beer Brats Part III: 07 Jubelale Brats

Beer Luvvas,

In my continuing saga to perfect the Beer Brat, I've tried something new....semi-aged 07 Jubelale Ale.

This is the third different beer I've tried based on the previously posted recipe from Grilling with Beer. I'm basically holding everything the same, just changing the beer used to boil the brats before throwin' 'em on the barbie.

07 Jubelale had grown a little too "juniper-y" for my palate during an astonishingly cool evening last month. I thought that this particular vintage of Jubelale wouldn't last a summer aging for it to be cool enough again in Phoenix to enjoy. So I thought that I'd boil up some brats and give 'er a go!

07 Jubelale definitely finished in the top 2 of this 3 beer test. As previously posted, Full Sail Amber was disappointing; but it's been so long since the initial Alaskan Amber Brat tasting that I couldn't tell which was better.

Although the brats were grand, I was hoping that some of Jubelale's strong juniper flavor would make it's way into the brats. Didn't happen. But they were still some great brats!

Prost to 07 Jubelale Brats!
