Beer luvvas,
I've returned from the last (sigh) ski trip of the season, and should be back to blogging on a more regular basis. Needless to say, this last trip included stops in Portland (Beervana!), Hood River, and Bend Oregon. So, I have plenty of new information to blog about. And boy was it tasty!
I'm starting not quite backwards, but not really in the middle either. And definitely not at the beginning! First let me thank Jon for his kind post and offer to buy me a beer the next time I'm in Bend. Cheers! As thanks, I've added his blog - The Brew Site - as appropriate blog reading while drinking beer. After reading Jon's 'About,' I have to say excellent effort to create the ubiquitous searchable brew-blog. I too had such grandiose plans with Hops & Barley. However, I've found The Beer Mapping Project, and I recommend that we just add our efforts to this project. It's quite extraordinary already.
And if I could make a request, Jon could you please start by adding your thoughts on what to my knowledge is the newest brewery to join the Bend, OR Brewing Community: Wildfire Brewing! After a Blue-bird day on Bachelor, Freebird, G's Dad & I enjoyed a pitcher of their Code 24 Pale Ale on the patio at "The Rock" bar in West Village Lodge. It was a tasty quaff after a great day of skiing. It was light (which appealed to Freebird the most), but had a subtle hint of something stronger underneath - especially after the glass hit "room" temp. (about 40 in the sun).
All I've been able to find about Wildfire is the link above, and that they will be present at Portland's Spring Beer Festival later this month (3/21-22). Jon, please tell us more about this new Bend Brew Location!
Prost to Jon and Wildfire Brewing in Bend, OR!
