Mother's Day - Alaskan Amber Brats

Good evening beer luvvas!!

Well, last night was another experiment in Grilling with Beer. FreeBird and I had some other Motherless PHX friends over (aka nobody's Mom lives in AZ) for a little BBQ, and I attempted another recipe from my B-Day Grilling with Beer Cookbook - Amber Brats. Specifically Alaskan Amber Brats.

This recipe is my FAV cuz it was sooper simple (since ASG is not a fan of the kraut, so I skipped that part) - add 1 teaspoon & ~16-20oz of Alaskan Amber to a sauce pan large enough to hold 8-10 brats. Ensure the brats are completely covered and simmer for 20min. Remove from saucepan and grill 'til brown. Serve.

Everyone agreed that these brats were SIGNIFICANTLY better than brats boiled in cheap-ass swill beer. Given that the 2 bottles of Alaskan Amber round to ~$2.50; vs. say $1 for 2 cans o'swill - that's an additional expense of ~15 cents (assuming 10 brats per batch) per brat!

Easily worth it!

Cheers to Moms everywhere! Happy Mother's Day w/Alaskan Amber Brats!
