Good afternoon beer luvvas!!!!
It's the day after Cinco de Mayo and Free Bird and I celebrated by moving all our bedroom and patio furniture back to their appropriate locations after completing the painting of our master bed/bath, and the outside of our house. After lifting/sliding heavy stuff for a few hours, a dip in the pool (currently a brisk 76) and a quaff were in order.
Free Bird brought one of the Papago purchased bottles out in my latest koozie and I was Shappy (shocked and happy) @ the XTREME hops bit of this brew. Upon completion and removal of the koozie I was delighted to see a beer I had previously not experienced: Green Flash Brewing Co.'s West Coast IPA. From their website...
This West Coast-Style India Pale Ale is extravagantly hopped, full flavored, medium bodied and copper colored. A menagerie of hops is combined throughout the brewing process to impart specific characteristics. Hops used include Simcoe for a unique fruitiness and grapefruit zest, Columbus for strong hop pungency, Centennial for pine and citrus notes, and Cascade for floral aroma.
I'm half tempted to add Green Flash Brewing to my list of favorite brewers after one 12oz West Coast IPA exeperience, however, who in the beer world is that hasty??? Their website also lists a Barelywine which must be savord before they are added to my hall of brewing fame.
Prost to XTREME IPAs!!!

Howdy! I have had their Imperial IPA and their Barlerwine, and I can say that I'm very, very impressed with both. I've never had the regular West Coast IPA, but I can imagine it's probably very good. They do a good job of balancing the high hops and high alcohol so that it's not overpowering. In fact, I have a 22 of the barleywine in the fridge as I type this. Enjoy!
P.S. I Want My $2!
