VCU 79 Duke 77 - It gets no better!!!

Well beer lovers, it's the triple witching weekend - Spring Break, Spring Training, March Madness & St. Paddy's Day on Saturday. Each one of those events is a great reason to enjoy some of the hops and barley brew, so since they all occur in parallel this weekend, let's dedicate at least 70% of our livers to the consumption of some serious hops and barley!

So far, my bracket stinks. I'm shooting .500, but I correctly picked Duke's first round loss! Nothing else matters!!!! The hated Blue Devils were overrated - as they almost always are - and this time ran into an underrated opponent in VCU! Cheers to VCU for a hard fought, well earned win!

It was even more enjoyable to witness this great event in the company of many fellow Duke-hata's (why I'm not sure, but I also don't care) @ one of my favorite March Madness venues: Old Chicago Pasta & Pizza. Granted it's a chain, but it's a good chain. I know that each outlet will have satellite reception to ensure that I can watch the game(s) I want to despite CBS's notion that the 2 (1) v. 15 (16) drubbing is the game everyone outside of the locals every other school is from really wants to watch. And, I can enjoy all the games while enjoying one of many fine brews on tap.

This evening's option was Stone Brewing's IPA, not to be confused w/their XTREME overhopped Ruination IPA - one of my favorites (now that I'm on an IPA kick). There's enough hops to let me know that this is a solid IPA, but not so much that I shout, "This is XTREMELY hoppy!"

Now I'm back @ home watching the Zags hang tough against the Hoosiers (excellent film by the way). Hoping for yet another upset.

Prost to the Underdogs!
