My latest shipment of East Coast IPA has arrived and I have been enjoying Harpoon IPA every night this week. Visit Harpoon (here). A great, well-balanced IPA with a mouthful-of-fresh-hops feeling and just the right amount of bitterness.
I used to drink a boatload of Harpoon when I lived in Richmond, VA. The Bamboo Cafe always had a good supply of Harpoon in addition to good food and predictably bad service. We never cared since they let us play hearts in the back and didn't throw us out until 1:45.
Unlike a lot of breweries where IPA is an afterthought, Harpoon makes this style their flagship beer. And they do a darned good job. The next time you're back East, skip the Rolling Rock and order a Harpoon.
